The one depicted here is a WW1 war relic, with a WW1 "Emergency" production iron scabbard, ribbed.

During WW1 production was simplified as much as possible. One of the bayonet production bottleneck was found in the handle itself, composed from 2 main parts and 9 minor components. This was simplified by casting a whole handle with brass, so a single main part which only needed the three extra components of the release button.
The one depicted here is a WW1 war relic, with a WW1 "Emergency" production iron scabbard, ribbed.
